2021 Gives Us Another Opportunity to Excel

This year our 38th annual Hunger Walkathon West CROP Hunger Walk and it will be virtual. Last year we pivoted from our traditional model of walking together as a group of 300 to 400 people. The change was caused by the global pandemic of COVID-19. It was a time of joining forces in our commitment to raise money and awareness around the issue of hunger with a virtual walk.

It required planning a new way of getting the message out, as our Chair, Joanne Despotes coined:

This meme encapsulated the way in which we approached the walk. Still raising money online and asking even more of our friends and family. The pandemic impacted food agencies like never before.

At the end of the walk we awaited for what we thought would be a lower amount of money raised. To our surprise and delight it turned out that we raised $100,000.00, the most ever raised in our 38 years of walking to Ending Hunger One Step At A Time.

This year we are resolved to accomplish the same. Already our Team Captains have gathered to get the materials to share with their teams. We are enthused at the outreach Team Captains have shown they are prepared to excite their members to be bold in telling the story of the CROP Hunger Walk.

Please join them by signing up now to join a team; start a team, or just donate to our 38th year of the CROP Hunger Walk.
