We Dedicate our 2014 Walk To Marjorie Cobbs

Our 2014 Crop Walk is dedicated to Marjorie Cobbs. Marjorie was a wonderful woman who was deeply loved by her family and friends. Among those friends were the people she faithfully served at the Columbus Park Food Pantry for nineteen years. As the Director of one of our Recipient Agencies, she could always be found at our CROP Hunger Walk each May volunteering her services with humor and smiles.

Marjorie loved to serve people in any way she could. She ran a beauty salon, a catering business, a travel agent, and ran a yearly gospel fest. All of these areas touched people’s lives and spirits. She was given the keys to the cities of Chicago and New Orleans for all her good works. We were grateful and honored to know her, and we dedicate this Walk in her memory.

Here is an article from the February 9, 2011 issue of Austin Weekly News.

We are Walking One Step at a Time to end hunger, she walked many, many steps.

Thank you Marjorie.
